River City Field Trips is proud to introduce Drama CATS (creative arts and theater society).
Enhance your homeschoool curriculum with our youth-led drama program.
It’s an opportunity for children of all experience and comfort levels to try their hands at various tasks involved with writing and performing in an original theater production.
The main goals of the program are to build self-confidence, bolster public-speaking skills, capitalize on the natural creativity of children, and to HAVE FUN.
The program will be facilitated by an enthusiastic group of volunteer parents. Over the course of the program, students will move toward a more self-directed atmosphere.
Children will have the opportunity to try many different aspects of theater production— · acting · creative writing · set design · costume design · stage direction · choreography/dance
At no point will any child be asked to participate in an activity that makes them feel uncomfortable. Since each child has unique talents, everyone will be encouraged to explore activities that are best suited to them.
Drama CATS will meet every other Monday, beginning September 22nd (see dates below), at the Farnsley-Moremen House, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., culminating with a show in May (location and date TBA).
The sign-up fee for this program is $30 per child or $50 per family. The sign-up fee will cover facility charges for the entire program-length and is due by September 15th.
Parents and younger siblings are welcome to participate in the program free of charge. However, it should be noted that program activities will be directed towards children ages 6 and up.
Space is limited for Drama CATS, so please reserve your spots soon. Email your reservations to rivercitycommittee@yahoo.com
